Overview
The Gustard DAC-X16 is a digital-to-analogue converter using two ESS ES9068AS DAC chips and an XMOS XU216 USB audio processor. The design uses a balanced conversion architecture.
A programmable CPLD manages clocking, digital reshaping and PCM/DSD switching. The ES9068AS chips also contain hardware-renderer functions for appropriately prepared MQA signals.
