Overview
The Stax SRM-400S is a desktop driver unit for Stax electrostatic earspeakers. Its all-stage FET configuration uses selected low-noise FETs and a direct-coupled signal circuit.
RCA and XLR inputs let the unit connect to different audio sources, while a parallel RCA output is also provided. The source specifies 580 V DC bias, 60 dB gain and a maximum output voltage of 400 V rms at 1 kHz. Its aluminum hybrid chassis is designed to reduce the effect of vibration.
